Company Background Kuju's roots date
back to the 1980s and the establishment of flight simulation specialist Simis. Simis merged with UK publisher Domark in 1995 before being jointly acquired by Eidos in a £13.4m transaction that heralded the entrance
of Eidos into the games market. In 1998, the Simis management team conducted an MBO of the developer from Eidos and renamed the company Kuju. Whilst the Company retained much of its simulation specialisation
following the MBO, it also began to branch out into other genres and achieved success with action titles such as FPS Fire Warrior although its biggest successes have remained in the simulation genre (Microsoft Train
Simulator and Lotus Challenge are notable successes). Kuju now develops across all major platforms and has established one of the largest mobile games operations in Europe.
The Company floated on AIM in May 2002, raising £2.2m in the process. The Company raised an additional £0.8m in march 2004 and £0.2m via convertible loan notes in May 2006. Kuju currently employs 150 people.
