Conclusion The news that the Company had run into financial difficulties in mid 1999 came as something of a surprise as the
Company had reported on numerous occasions a full order book, was moving towards a cash-positive position and had established a good reputation within the digital animation industry. It is particularly odd that the
Company failed to raise the funds needed to secure the TV series as the element of risk involved should have been considerably reduced by the promise of the TV contract. One wonders whether the failure of Inner
Workings still lingered with northern investors and indeed the deep discounted fund-raising which has resulted in New Media Spark and its management team taking a large equity interest in the Company, will only last
until mid-late '99 if the current cash-burn rate continues. The future though is looking up. It is now known that the Press Association have commissioned DAG to work on a new animation project although it has
yet to be revealed how DAG intends to exploit that relationship in the long run.
