DAG Overview

Digital Animations (DAG)

Games Investor has terminated coverage of DAG

Company Background
Digital Animations Group was founded in 1990 as a provider of computer generated business presentations. The Company made a number of failed attempts to enter the games industry as a games developer, even getting so far as to win a publishing contract with Eidos. However, no titles have ever been released and the Company, in the mean time, began to shift its focus again, this time towards digital animation.  The Company now comprises a digital production team that works on pre-rendered game intros, TV commercials and other computer-generated animations. Following a period of strong growth, the Company began to experience financial problems as its order book dried up and it made a failed attempt to raise funds for a large TV project. DAG shares were suspended whilst it sought a rescue package, which eventually arrived in the form of New Media Spark who, with other investment partners, injected £655,000 into the Company. The focus of the Company has once again shifted to the web-based animation following a deal with the Press Association. The Company currently employs 23 people.
The Company also raised £300,000 during April/May 1998.

Activities
DAG now specialises in digital effects/animation for games, television, internet and film. The games effects are in the form of FMV and pre-rendered cut scenes and have, to date, appeared in over 10 titles. The Company also works with advertising agencies and TV production companies to produce computer generated animation and effects.
