This is how we work:

 

Desk-based work: GIC can generate comprehensive reports on all major areas of the games industry tailored to the brief.


Regular client meetings: We meet with our clients regularly throughout our projects to ensure we are delivering value, answering questions and tailoring our work to fit the unique requirements of each client.

 

Collaborative workshops: We create, conduct and write up a wide range of workshops on commercial, production and financial strategy, allowing us to inform and train key staff, moderate creative sessions where staff create strategy appropriate to their objectives and resources, stress-test assumptions to ensure strategy is robust before formulating practical steps to implement strategy.


Board and conference presentations: We are practised presenters of industry overviews, commercial and production strategy and financial evaluation to the boards of major companies, investors, government departments, conferences and the media.


Asset evaluation: We regularly conduct assessments of traditional media IP, games content IP and games technology IP in order to provide strategic recommendations and valuations for licensing or acquisition based on our wide experience in both fields.


Independent advice: We are frequently brought in to throw sticks at business plans to ensure they are robust. We deliver an independent, objective and frank assessment to ensure that assets, resources and strategies are exploited to their maximum.


• Sustainability: We usually find that our constant monitoring of the games market means that we plug gaps in our clients' resources and understanding of how the business of games works. Our approach is always to find ways to build clients’ autonomy and permanently strengthen their internal resources, rather than become permanently attached to our clients. So it's sustainable for our clients, but our expertise in such a fast growing field ensures we can continue to add value on future projects looking at new sectors of gaming (say social network gaming or casual massively multiplayer online games for instance), without duplicating your resource. So it's sustainable for us too.


Confidentiality: We maintain stringent confidentiality levels on all our projects for private clients. No confidential data nor interviews are ever published nor interviewees quoted without either their approval or without being thoroughly anonymised. Thus each client benefits from the breadth of our experience with other clients without fear of any exchange of sensitive information between competitors.
